What to see:

Kyoto Station offers many things to do and
see within its confines.  Aside from beings
one of the Japan's largest buildings inside
are a shopping mall, hotel, movie theater,
Isetan department store, many restaurants,
and several local government facilities.  You
cant really say you have been to Kyoto
unless you stopped at Kyoto Station at least
once and walked around to see what it
offers.
How to get there:  

Kyoto Station is the most important transportation hub in Kyoto, Japan.  It location and
various services make it invaluable tool for sightseeing Kyoto.  No matter which airport
you fly into each is a significant distance from their respective city center.  If you would

Transportation in Kyoto:

Because Kyoto Station is the transportation hub of Kyoto it offers various means of
travel.  Kyoto Station is the cities main station served by all trains of Japan Railways,
including shinkansen (bullet train), Kinetsu Railways, and local subway.  On on side of

Brief History:

The current Kyoto Station opened in 1997, to commemorate Kyoto's 1,200th
anniversary.  The building is 70 meters hight and 470 meters from east to west, with a
total floor area of 238,000 square meters.  The architect who built Kyoto Tower was
Hiroshi Hara.  He build the tower to have a futurestic look unlike the rest of Kyoto.
